What is the symbolic significance of seeing injured/dead mourning doves?

Me and my significant other have seen two injured birds today, one looked like it was attacked by a cat, but okay, the other a few hours later, hit by a car and probably dead. Is there any symbolic significance in seeing injured birds? They were both mourning doves. Thanks!
