Can neons be kept with bettas?

use the 25 gallon tank instead. in a 25 gallon tank you can keep a male betta and a school of 7 or 8 neon tetras and even 1 or 2 ghost shrimp. In a 10 gallon tank i would only keep a betta and a couple of ghost shrimp and a live plant. Hope this helps:) Just please cycle the tank properly before adding any fish.
