Places/banquet halls/gyms to hold a workshop in?

I have a friend who wants to hold a hoopdance workshop in the Chicago area. Does anyone know of any places that wouldn't be too expensive to rent or maybe a place that doesnt charge (doubt that exists)? She needs a place thats at least 1800 sq ft with tall ceilings which is why I've had my eye on gyms but have had no luck. she needs it for a saturday and a sunday 4 hours each day. any help would be appreciated! it doesnt have to be right in chicago, it could be a bit outside the city
