What evidence is there that the hole in the ozone is not part of the ice age/tropic age cycle?

We know from geologic records that the earth typicaly transits between a tropic age, which is what we are now in the beginnings of, and a ice age, which is basicly over for this cycle. What research has been done to rule out natural phenomena due to the cyclic nature of the earth?
