Can two people of the opposite be platonic friends after previously in a romantic, ual relationship?

I doubt it would work because eventually one or the other would want to cross the line, speaking as a divorced woman that has been there.EDIT>>> But it does depend on the 2 people involved, not saying it can't be done.
