Not all of my light fixtures work after bulb replacement?

I replaced most of my homes light bulbs with high efficiency compact florescent light bulbs. Now when I turn on the hall way switch only one of the two bulbs illuminates. Where should I start, I only replaced the bulbs, do I need to do something with the sockets, what about the switch?
